Howey

On Saturday, Mar 29, 2025, Fremont senior, Tressa Howey took a trip to the Indiana State Robotics Competition held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds to be recognized for being the senior leader of the Fremont Robotics Team that received the Amaze Award. Under that ruse, instead of just the amaze award, she was surprised with a four year tuition scholarship to Purdue university.

Purdue University Vice Provost Cherise Hall emphasized how these scholarships support Indiana’s top STEM talent, helping students excel in engineering and technology. She also highlighted that there's more to robotics than just competition—it's about preparing students for future success in STEM careers. Purdue is committed to supporting these efforts by investing in the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.

Tressa plans to study mechanical engineering with additional studies in aerospace engineering in the Fall. Congratulations, Tressa and thank you Ken Baker for making this possible!
