5th grade students had a penny war in order to help the 5th and 6th student council raise money for the Fremont Community Church Food Bank. The "winning" teacher, Mrs. Kinsey, got a pie in the face.

Fremont Community Schools Families,
As many of you may be aware, FCS has had several incidents over the past week. We are thankful for swift responses from state and local authorities and we will continue to keep safety, along with security our number one priority. This last week has been a difficult time for us all, and I know you may have concerns.
Unfortunately, this wave of social media threats is not unique to schools and is happening all over the country. I cannot stress enough that making any sort of threat to harm another person, regardless of actual intent, is always taken seriously and can even lead to criminal charges and expulsion from school. This past week incidents have led to suspension and pending expulsion hearings.
We need to come together and teach our children that making a threat can have potentially life-altering consequences that can come from making poor decisions. Please help us by talking to your child about the serious consequences and long-term effects that this type of behavior would have on his/her life. As a school family we will be meeting with the students and after Christmas vacation we will be bringing in specialists to talk about appropriate social media interactions.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation as we work together to ensure the safest environment for our students, staff, and community.

Yesterday, Fremont High School received a message from the MSD school system about a possible threat on social media. The possible threat originated from an old picture that included a Fremont student, which was shared via social media. The picture had a weapon in it which appeared to be associated with an old online Tik-Tok challenge. Upon receiving the information, the high school administration contacted local authorities and within minutes there were 8 officers in the building. Those students who were involved based on the shared information at the time were immediately apprehended for questioning without incident and searches took place to confirm that there was no viable threat.
Safety and security will always be the priority of Fremont Community Schools. Further investigation is continuing today, along with the coming days to collect the facts and additional details so that proper protocols can be followed and those involved are held accountable for their actions. We apologize for the delay of details but wanted to ensure there was no misleading information that would cause any additional disarray.

Today, Fremont High School received a message about a possible threat on the internet. “No specific details were provided but we take all threats seriously.”
Fremont Police Department and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office were notified and immediately dispatched to the school. Out of an abundance of caution, several Fremont police and Sheriff’s cars were in the area this afternoon.
The threat was investigated by Fremont staff, Fremont PD and Steuben County Sheriff’s and found no credible threat. We will continue to put student safety as a top priority.

In the 4th grade High Ability pull out Math program, Hezekiah Scantlen had the task of planning and building to scale a fort with two rooms. The thesis of the fort was the rooms needed to have the same area and different perimeters or different areas and the same perimeter. After construction, he wrote a scientific essay to support the thesis. Super job, Hezi!

Mrs. Connors class had fun this week mixing, rolling, cutting gingerbread cookies. Of course, like in the books, the cookies ran away and we had to find them before we could decorate and eat them!

From Mrs. Lies and her Kindergarten Class.
Last week, we came into class and our gingerbread cookies for snack were missing! We received clues throughout the day, had to make inferences, and caught Mr. Bryan red handed with our cookies! Turns out, he was just really hungry. The cookies were returned and the case was solved.
